chickpeajoe No Fuss Veggie Sloppy Joe

Dude, I don’t know how you people make veggie burgers or patties or whatever. I just can’t do it. I hate it! And I give up. Ha! I don’t have the patience to smush together my carefully processed beans and veggies into patties and pray pray pray as I carefully place them in the pan…and they almost stay together…and then I go to flip ‘em and everything falls apart into crumbles. I’m over it.

No more, my friends. No more.

Now I bet some of you are masters at this task. Maybe you have Christ-like patience. Maybe you have non-stick pans. Whatever the case, bless your patty-making heart.

I’m going sloppy joe style. Hell yes I am, because it takes a fraction of the time and who cares if my meal is a patty or a mess? I’m going to chew it up anyway, right?

I recently got a great e-book all about beans. (If you want to learn more about preparing beans the right way and lots of frugal ways to use ‘em in meals, check it out here.) So while I can’t in good conscious give you the recipe for my chickpea sloppy joe, I can tell you how I did it.

No Fuss Veggie Sloppy Joe
1. Use your food processor to shred everything in sight.
2. Mix it up.
3. Heat some oil in a pan over medium heat and throw in your mixture. Allow to brown a bit, mixing with a spoon every so often.
4. Deposit on bread or roll or wrap. Make sure to include your dark leafy greens in there somewhere! And a dressing is nice. Veggie burger recipes tend to be dry.
5. Deposit in your mouth.

See, isn’t that easier?

You’re very welcome.

Motherhood makes me more efficient than ever before, I gotta tell you. Which reminds me, I have some poopy clothes that should be in the washer right now. But before I leave you, here are some recipes you can try with a modified sloppy joe style:

Chickpea Miso Burgers
Mushroom Kasha Burgers
Black Bean Burgers

P.S. Just a few days left to sign up for my 21 Day Detox! The group is all geared up and ready to rock. Won’t you join us?

Oh Michelle, I LOVE this! I too can not make too many patties without them sticking to my Al Clad pots and pans or I have to use an entire bottle of oil!

Amen sister! I spent so much time making veggie burgers I didn’t know when I would get around to making them again and I love them! This is such a great option.

hahah- keeping bean burgers together always is a challenge :) I usually opt for my sloppy janes instead. But I love the idea of adding more veg to the mix.
