How do you say “This is the best way to eat radishes” in Spanish?
May 16th, 2012
“Camarones Ajo!” I proudly announced to my husband, as I shoved a bowl of shrimp and some grill tongs at him. This was my way of making a last minute dinner sound super fancy and well-planned. I mean, come on. If I can say it in spanish that proves I didn’t just haphazardly pull shrimp out of the freezer, right?
Ummm.
While hubby grilled up my shrimp, I finely sliced the radishes and baby turnips that came with my weekly CSA box. 10 minutes later, a delicious meal was on the table.
My husband tentatively bit into a radish and declared, “This is the best way to eat these!”
I agree.
Today, a little tribute to how easy real, whole, seasonal food can be.
Camarones Ajo (Garlic Shrimp)
Raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
Some olive oil
A couple cloves of garlic, chopped
Some salt and pepperIn a shallow bowl, combine all ingredients. Grill (or pan fry) shrimp until flesh turns fully opaque. Doesn’t take long!
The Best Way To Eat Radishes
2 bunches radishes (or baby turnips), thinly sliced
2 Tbl. butter
1 Tbl. olive oil
Some salt and pepperIn a large pan, melt butter over medium heat and add oil. Swirl to combine. Add radishes and mix well. Season with salt and pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally, until radishes turn translucent and begin to brown (5-10 minutes). Mmmmmm.
What was in your CSA box or Farmer’s Market this week? Or what veggies did you pick up at the store?
