Welcome to 21 Days of Detoxing with clean, whole, real food! Yep, we’re at it again with another awesomely motivated group. Registration is now closed for the fall detox but I’ll run it again in a few months and then YOU can hop on the feel-good train! And from now until October 28th you can get a new recipe each day by subscribing to my RSS feed.
I wanna rock.
I don’t want to live life gently. I want to kick ass and take names. I want to make it happen and get shit done! That’s just who I am.
It made me ever-so-happy to return to a full Primary Series yoga class last week. It’s not an easy class. And I haven’t been in that kind of shape since, oh, 2009 when I studied with David Swenson. Man, was I ripped!
Not quite as powerful these days, I still made it through class and felt amazing. I’m going back next week, for sure.
My girl Jennifer from Health Coach and Cook is a similar get’erdone kind of gal. She’s got energy and enthusiasm and killer detox-friendly recipes. Love it. Thanks Jenn!
Asian Wrap & Roll
4 sheets toasted nori seaweed paper (find it in the asian aisle at Whole Foods/natural food store)
1 cup cooked brown rice
1/2 cup hummus
1/4 cucumber, sliced thin
1/2 carrot, sliced thin
1/2 avocado, sliced thin
2 cups sprouts (alfalfa, watercress, radish, pea shoots, etc.)
2 cups lettuce or mixed leaves
In a bowl, combine hummus and brown rice. Lay nori sheet on a cutting board lengthwise. Spread a quarter of the hummus/rice mixture at the bottom of the nori sheet closest to you.
On top of hummus/rice, place 2 slices of cucumber, 2 slices of carrot, 2 slices of avocado. Top with 1/2 cup of sprouts and 1/4 cup of lettuce.
Roll up into a wrap. If it doesn’t stay closed, wet the far end with some water using your fingertips and press to seal.
