Real Food Instant Chocolate Pudding (Dairy free, sugar free): Detox recipe 7 of 21

Congratulations to all of my detoxers on completing Week 1! To celebrate, I highly recommend this pudding for dessert. Or, really, for breakfast if you want. It’s that good for you.

I bet a lot of you have childhood memories of chocolate pudding. Not so much here (though Jello Pudding Pops were a favorite, now that I think about it.) Anyway, my love affair with chocolate pudding really took hold during my pregnancy. Funny, how those cravings come out of nowhere. If only I’d had this recipe back then!

I first discovered this idea at a blog called The Nourishing Gourmet. After playing with it, this version emerged. It makes use of the natural sweetness of bananas – in fact, if your bananas are very, very ripe (black) you can skip the honey altogether.

Real Food Instant Chocolate Pudding
Serves 2-3
2 very ripe bananas
1 ripe avocado
4 Tbl. cocoa powder
1 tsp. vanilla extract (or orange extract for a citrusy twist)
2 Tbl. raw honey (optional, depending how ripe your bananas are)
3 Tbl water

Combine all ingredients in food processor. Blend until smooth.
